I have sky puck connected directly to the sky router with a cat 5e cable. Daily the sky puck will display we have a technical fault please wait. Five or ten minutes later the systems starts streaming again.

If i connect to the device with wifi ( various family members iphones) I see the message this "wifi has no internet connection". I dont think that this is an end user device issue.

If I have a laptop plugged dierectly into the back of the sky router I can ping the router on 192.168.0.1. I can not traceroute to www.google.co.uk

I can ping 8.8.8.8

I see no record of the broadband connection failing, or reseting so do not think it is a physical device issue.

I suspect that this is a dns issue, at or beyond the router.

Tried setting the oruters DNS manually to 8.8.8.8 with fallback of 1.1.1.1

but traffic was not stable

SKY sent a new router and the same problems exists.

I am struggling to talk to some one in sky, any suggestions?

I have run the automated diagnostics on sky site and all looks good

Thanks

@Happy+Hen you cannot change tge DNS on sny Sky hub. You can always set a device like a laptop to use a public DNS if younprefer as the device settings will overide the hub's settings.

it is unlikelly to be DNS issue with Sky Stream as the traffic remains within Sky's network. It is an odd fault assuming the hub is either not having to deal with too many users or tge bandwidth of your connection is limited. To stream in UHD requires 25 yo 35Mb/s so if you are on a partial fibre connection and someone in hour home starts a download you could see an issue. Sjy hubs dont offer QOS.

What bandwidth do hou gdt and what colouur is the hub do you have?
