Full Fibre Install - Openreach or Sky

My full fibre install is booked for Wednesday, and an Openreach engineer was out last week to complete the external work and install the small grey box on the outside wall.

Just had a message from Sky to say that it will now be an Openreach engineer, not a Sky engineer, that will visit on Wednesday to complete the installation. Is this likely to cause any issues, or anything I need to be aware of ? I'm pretty competent technically and confident I'll be able to get router up and running having read the help guides, but if its an Openreach guy rather than a Sky guy it may not be possible to make sure everything is activated fully and working properly before he leaves ?

Appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks

I had the same Openreach engineer do external and internal at the same time. I set up the router before he arrived with the old broadband just make sure it worked. He didn't test any Sky equipment at all. He didn't even wait to see if the new phone line via the router was going to work. He just said to call Sky if it's not working in a couple of hours. That said he did a good tidy job and I had no problems.

@geoffshep69 There is a limited number off sky Engineers fully trained to do the install's either Inside or Outside off the home, the best to have by Far is an OR Engineer, you are joining the OR Full Fibre Network and they do take care off everything also... See the on the day video from OR linked below. A fully working system before the change over, but please fully consider were your ONT is going that may just NOT be the best place for your sky Hub especially if you have it in a central location and working well just now....

How is Full Fibre Installed?

I neednt have worried, the Openreach engineer was excellent. He was even able to pull the new fibre through the existing duct between the outside of the house and the master socket inside, so no drilling or wiring needed.

All up and running very quickly and going well so far. Wireless speed is excellent when connected to the router on my phone, although the speed between the hub and my PC (which uses a Powerline adapter connected to Ethernet port) is not great so far.
