Wifi into living room around 100 mbps, but upstairs can vary from 1 mbps to 50.

I have a powerline adapter plugged into router and into plug upstairs and pc plugged intonl ethernet to tplink powerline adapter, but still very up and down

If you can provide a few more bits of information - what Sky broadband hub do you have? The black one or the white?

Without your boosters connected is the connection better or worse? Sometimes having too many boosters can cause interference with each other and cause further issues.

@Stuarthayesxxxx Powerline relies on a few things, 1. Direct on the mains socket... 2. Upstairs downstairs al depends on both the powerline being used and the connections between circuits through the main electric consumer box....

My PL is about 50-100 Mb/s from the Up/Down floors wired unit and a wifi unit, and to the garage furthest away about 20Mb/s wifi again, with multiple units all involved...

Black router.

Boosters are one per floor (2 of them)

Gaming PC and laptop are on 2nd Floor rear, hub/router ground floor front

Powerline #1 is plugged directly to wall socket (not in am extension).

Powerline 2 plugged into wall socket. Extension plug for PC plugged into powerline adapter.

@Stuarthayesxxxx What PL do you have model wise, you may be able to manage them from your PC if you have the device IP and see what is going on to them, if not then if they are app controlled used that, have three different in operation ans manage all via the web interface, all Tp-Link! PA717 Master, PA4010 Sat Box and 2 x WP4220 all used!

@Stuarthayesxxxx Would think the web manager should be able to get to that model, if not you may just have to use the utility.

Speed you won't know until you give it all a try! You can always move them down to the same area as the master plug in and see what the short distance speed test is like, if you have an Ethernet portable pc to do so!
