So, I moved recently to a new place and I need a good broadband if possible, but when i search there is no option for fibre on my address, there is only a expensive and slow copper option. The thing is that all the neighbours seems to have many options. I want to know if there is a way to book an engineer to see if its possible to run a cable to my flat as I cant find an option with any providers.

@Guipena Sky use either the Openreach or City Fibre network. While theoretically you can buy a FTTP on demand service from Openreach the cost is normally prohibitive with the intial desk top survey costing thousands and dont even think about the installation costs.

Otherwise you have to wait until your property is passed by a commercial roll out. Howeever if your neighbours definitely have full fibre connections the road could have been cabked by one of the many local Altnets or Virgin Media whose lines Sky cant use. Comparison dites like USwitch are a good place to start.

@Guipena wrote:

Essentially, no: there isn't enough profit margin on an ISP minimum contract term for such a visit. As @Chrisee indicates, just the survey cost for 'FTTP on Demand' is £3500, specifically to discourage applications from anyone who doesn't have tens of thousands set aside to pay for such a project.

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2023/05/openreach-try-to-reduce-uk-fttp-on-demand-broadband-cancellations.html

The designated Universal Service Obligation provider is BT but if your copper circuit is delivering 10Mbs in and 1Mbs out then that meets the seriously outdated minimum standard set by government.
