An ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is then screwed to the wall which converts the optical signal the fibre carries into annelectronic signal the hub can use. It definitely requires an engineer to fit this kit and possible that some preperation eork is required outside in advance. The old copper wiring becomes redundant but is not normally removed

Quick question for anyone tech-savvy 🙈

I’ve spoken to Sky and they’ve switched my internet over to full fibre. They’ve sent me two new cables.

At the moment, my Sky runs from the old phone socket (so I think that’s using the copper line).

To change over to full fibre, do I need a new box fitting for the fibre, or can it run through what I already have? Just trying to work out if an engineer visit is needed 🤔

Thanks in

@Debbie5588 Sky have sent you the two cables for the complete sky Hub, that allows for all connection methods from copper to FF Full Fibre to be done, the link below has samples off the ONT box which will NOW need to be installed along with the Fibre cable connection that is External to your property, sky use both OR/CF Openreach or CityFibre for that so one off them is going to install.... Sky would give you an Installation Date/Time for this to happen as soon as they have confirmed with OR/CF, then ideally e-mail/text you so that you are happy with the dates, you may also see that in your account orders, or something in your My Messages section!

Can't connect to broadband and have a red light on your ONT
