I understand the service checker looks for issues in the area, but the wifi checker option shows no issues either, which checks connections to devices. Also it was showing as me getting 150mbps when I was only getting 37mbps when stood next to the router.

I have followed all the instructions and nothing seems to work. I have to use my mobile hot-spot to watch tv upstairs

I live in a small 3 bed, the wifi is shocking upstairs and drops out a lot downstairs, we have just got the fibre 150 and it seems worse since upgrading. The service checker says everything is fine though?

The service checker looks for issue in you area and not in your property.

Try going through this to see if it helps:

https://www.sky.com/help/broadband/my-broadband-speed/improving-wi-fi-signal-to-my-devices/articles/improve-the-wi-fi-signal-to-your-devices

If not and if you have Wi-Fi Max on your account then Sky will supply up to 3 pods as you can read about here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max

Select "No, I still need help" at the bottom on the above link.

@Lauren199121 further to the good suggestions of @caesarome you might consider purchasing & using your own equipment eg something like this.

My ISP does not supply any network equipment and so the WiFi strength & speed is only as good as my setup.

As for broadband speeds, and to check my ISP is delivering the speed I pay for, I measure speeds at the main hub with a laptop and ethernet cable (not WiFi).

WiFi speed tests will be slower than a wired connection and will deteriorate the further away you move from the hub. Also WiFi receivers built into phones, laptops, TVs etc will give different results.

With the above in mind, I think I have realistic expectations of speed in my 3 storey home. With my mesh system I can work on the top floor using WiFi with speeds circa 250/80 down/up.

Best of luck getting your setup sorted.

Hi @Lauren199121

If you can't get (or do not want) boosters from Sky as per @caesarome 's post then as stated by @2muchTV a Mesh system is the best way to go to ensure seamless wi-fi around your home. This can be as cheap or expensive as you wish, since there are many different suppliers out there starting at under £100 to several hundred pounds depending on the speeds/functions that you need. I personally went for Amazon Eero 6's as I got a good deal on a 3 pack a couple of years ago but there are many that are cheaper now I think - just need to do your research before buying.

Good luck.
