That way any lower speed devices the switch handles but keeps you on max speed on the uplink!

Sky Q has to be treated different as soon as you introduce the sky Max to the picture, they are not the same as the old setup way, linked below the Q info, treat it all as a Third Party Device NOT as a sky system!!!!

sky connecting devices
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/connect-devices-to-broadband-start

When you are all done and finished Ethernet connecting the sky Q, TEST your speed with an Ethernet connected device to be sure the Q is not having an effect on the Ethernet speed for it all, this has been known to happen and will have an effect on your speed throughput, wired and wireless wifi!

I am just looking for any pointers for my new setup please.

I've recently setup a Deco XE75 Pro with 3 nodes due to my SKY Max hub not pushing out a decent wifi signal.

So, I have set the Deco in AP mode with both WiFi channels disabled on the SKY hub.

That's all I have changed on the hub.

I also have an existing gigabit switch plugged in to the SKY hub feeding a few devices via ethernet. That's still in place.

My SKY Q was originally set to WiFi and it did work for 2 days with the Deco in use, but last night lost WiFi connection, so I will connect the Q via ethernet, as I understand it pushes out it's own hidden WiFi mesh.

I presume I need to disable the Q's WiFi signal (if it's possible) after hard wiring it??

Should I connect my gigabit switch direct to the Deco unit (including the SKy Q) instead of connecting to the SKY hub?

Is there anything else that needs disabling/enabling etc?

I guess it would have been easier to have the Deco in router mode and discard the SKY hub altogether, but unfortunately it's not that compatible with SKY'S setup.

Any guidance much appreciated, thanks. ☺️

@JimM1 , thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am on full fibre (1gb) with the white Max hub.

Ok, so I will experiment with removing the Max hub altogether and just use Deco in router mode. I don't use the tel line.

Failing that, use the Sky Max for the ethernet connection (Sky Q wired direct to Max hub, and all other wired through the switch but via the Max hub too)

General performance wise, I presume there is no difference by using the Sky Max as the router and Deco in AP mode as opposed to the Deco controlling everything?

Thanks again.
