I've been through 2 routers and they both have the same problem.

I start downloading a large game, usually through Steam or Game Pass.

The speed gets to 50MB/s or so.

The router turns itself off and I have to wait for it to restart.

This repeats every 5 - 10 minutes until I finally manage to get the download finished.

It feels like intentional design to dissuade people from using the service in this way at this point.

Are there any steps to stop it, or just have to put up with it?

@Ristle the one thing it isn't is an intentional design decision the hubs should not reboot. Given it has affected two hubs implies it is either an issue in your home network, dodgy mains supply to the hub or a line issue. Of the three the last is unlikely given that line faults will cause issues at random times. You can check the mains supply yourself.

Network set up issues however are difficult to find. Do you have devices connected by both WiFi and ethernet?, Doyou have Sky Q boxes by any chance? If you describe your network particularly whetger you have any switches or boosters it maybe possible to troubleshoot.

Home power network should be fine, happened across 2 houses. This PC is plugged directly via ethernet into the router.

Phones and game consoles. Is it a known issue for these routers to restart if something connects to it while someone is downloading?
