@Mika+Hakkinen you are free to use any router yiu want either connected directly to the line or behind a Sky hub. Sky only supportvtheir own kit but cannot stop you using any reasonablecalternative.

A lot depends on what service you are buying from Sky if you are on a partial fibre service using the copper phone network you would need a modem as the router does not appear to includexa VDSL modem. Thexesiest set up would be to connect the Aircove behind the Sky hub using an ethernet cable creating what is known as a Double NAT set up which isnt ideal but should work for most appsxand would allow the security you say you are looking for,

If you have full fibre then potentially could connect the router to the line but it will need configuring to authenticate the connection whether that works depends on its firmware. Sky use DHCPv6 PD onmost UK lines but a few you have use DHCLv4 Option61 which I doubt the Aircove can. Of course you can use the double NAT setup if you prefer. Taking the Sky hub out means you lose the digital voice line.

Hi all,

I like to use ExpressVPN not just for privacy but also for all the adverts & trackers it blocks. They sell a router called the Aircove which actually has the VPN built into it, essentially protecting every single device in the home. My question is, will I be able to receive my Sky Broadband through it, or will they say no/make it difficult for me for not using the Sky router?

[removed]

I'd love the protection, and ad blocking automatically on every device without needing to touch them, only the router, but I don't want to buy one if one if you legends says "that's not going to work."

Thank you in advance,
