Not getting the speed I should over wifi

I pay for fullfibre gigafast broadband and Wi-Fi Max, but I struggle to get speeds anywhere near that around the home. I know the speed coming into the home is about 900Mb and I'm hardwired in my garden room and get speeds close to 900mb, but over the wifi I'm lucky if I get 250mb and sometimes it drops as low as 10Mb

@Rossi999 WiFi speeds are affected by the layout and type of construction of your home. In practice 250Mb/s is ample for everything apart from downloading huge files. If you do need those speeds use ethernet as to get faster WiFi in every room in your home is going to require third party kit which can cost serious money. Sky's WiFi Max bundle promises at least 25Mb/s in every room in your home (note excludescout buildings).

As @Chrisee indicates, 250Mbs is ten times faster than the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' element of the WiFi Max subscription supplement for a gigabit FTTP connection.

Repeated posts in this forum suggest that the white Max Hub struggles in some environments though. Realistically to shift anything close to cabled speed over wireless you'd need to invest in more capable mesh hardware (the Max pods are only WiFi 5) and have client devices of WiFi 6 or higher.
