Hi,

I had an Openreach engineer attend my property to fix a fault with my connection and while here he mentioned it was unusual in my area to have a building that was still only part fibre.

He mentioned that I could request them to run fibre to the building as our neighbouring building has it but we don't. He mentioned there was a connection point they could likely split from to achieve this.

I contacted our building's managing agent and they advised I would need to reach our to my service provider (Sky) to request this and then provide them with a form, while the Openreach engineer said that it would be Openreach directly.

Can anyone who's been through this process

If openreach have updated the street records to show that full fibre has been run past the property then you would be able to place an order with sky

once that order is placed openreach will conduct a survey and verify it is an made and they will then make the arrangement with the building management company to arrange the internal work

once this is agreed and carried out openreach will accept the order from sky and then confirm you full fibre or to arrange when they will visit to complete the installation into your individual property

This was the response:

FTTP is not available.

The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme

As a WLR withdrawal exchange, product restrictions apply

SOADSL is not restricted at the exchange

So does this mean the engineer was just mistaken in saying our property should be able to get full fibre? He mentioned that the building beside ours has it, and that we would be running from the same common connection.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

For all SOADSL services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.

If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service

ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL availability: If shown at FTTP or SOGEA premises,ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL are not available to order due to WLR Withdrawal stop sell rules. CPs should order FTTP or SOGEA. Copper products are only available by exception.

Thank you for your interest

I'm sorry, something went wrong with the pasting.
