I am experiencing an issue where all my devices connected to my Sky broadband network are showing an incorrect physical location (Washington, DC 20003, USA) via browser geolocation services, despite my actual location being in SG5 ###, UK.

After investigation, it appears this is caused by my broadband router’s Wi-Fi MAC address being incorrectly registered in public geolocation databases. This affects all devices on my network, regardless of browser or device.

I can provide the following connection details if required (concerned about making these public):

Router MAC Address

IPv4 Address

Network Type

Gateway IPv4 Address

I think that the location data associated with this MAC address and any related network hardware needs to be updated by the Sky team? Correcting should ensure accurate geolocation for me and potentially other customers.

Thank you for your help.

@Chris04111 Switch the sky hub off, leave it off for at least a few hours. when it goes back on see if you have a new wan IP address from sky. To check before and after note your address from this, www.whatismyipaddress.com
