Have a look on the BTW and OR Fibre links below just use the address and postcode options!

Thinking this may be the way to go, have sky take over at this point, get the number assigned in the change and then dump the other OR line at that time!

My father is now quite elderly and I have a Power of Attorney to act on his behalf. He has two phone lines to his house, both through BT. One of the phone lines was historically a fax line that is no longer needed. However, it is this line that the Sky Broadband comes down. We would like to know if it is possible to swap the broadband from the old fax line to his main residential line?

I suspect that's not possible without an unpleasant (and potentially risky) bodge such as a 'Home Move' at the same address.

Except the Phone Line Only does not have the broadband service attached to it, and I suspect they don't want to lose the phone number?

Using the fax line number instead may mean updating a whole host of contacts.
