I have been a Sky customer for over 26 years, so they keep telling me. VIP etc

I am trying to place an order for Sky Full Fibre 500. Simple you might think.

I have a BT Full Fibre 900 service with static IP that is dedicated to a blitzortung.org service.

I have been on the phone for over an hour and passed from one departmnet to another but

I am told that because I already have a broadband service I cannot have another one. This is utter

rubbish. I can have as many as I like! I am told I must switch my BT service to Sky and that is the

only way I can have Sky fibre. All I want to do is place an order. I know I need an additional fibre

connection and ONT. Happy to pay for the new connection. Please, someone at Sky sort this out.

Thanks.

They are correct in what they are telling you as you need to use the switching service by placing the order via the Sky website as doing so will see Sky tell Bt that you are leaving them so you will be switched to Sky.

BT may give you a separate line, for sure you are not getting any with sky they want/need to take over your existing BT900 one!

The Forum is not sky Customer service..... The rule is ONE OR supplied service to a home and NO more, sky is not the company to deal with. If you have one already then that is the one they want, and YOU CANNOT get another it's that simple....

You can try BT who you are with, they may allow you to run in a second line or upgrade your ONT to a dual port device, but you are not going to get it from sky, that is NOT the business they are in!

Sky does not offer static IP addresses on its domestic broadband products: it's an extra cost option on the Sky Business Broadband platform.

Domestic broadband sales from all mainstream ISPs are going to be geared towards switching rather than additional circuit provision, so it's really important both to be very clear and to make sure the salesperson understands too.
