I get that me WFH won't make a difference to them... my issue is why did they state the 17th on the order and ask for my postcode if that wasn't actually the date they could give me. Not only that, why didn't they state when I was ordering the product that the date could be different! Doesn't make sense at all.

Just ordered sky broadband to start on the 17th December. I specifically wanted this date so purposely waited until today to put through the order. There was no writing to state that the date was provisional or anything. See picture

all gone through and then I receive a text saying it won't activate until the 23rd!

I WFH so this isn't acceptable. Is there anything I can do to bring the date forward to the date stated on my order?

You've been given the earliest possible date in your area. Sky broadband is a domestic service so you working from home does not bring any extra or quicker service.

They gave you a date based on the diary Openreach or City Fibre have given them once tge order reach the local engineering team the date can change as they check exactly what needs to be done. There is usually nothing Sky can do to changectgst unfortunately.

Realistically the combination of bad weather, short daylight hours and seasonal staff absence makes midwinter a particular challenging time for broadband support, and I'd note that a proposed activation date of December 23rd isn't exactly risk-free: if something goes wrong then there aren't normal working conditions until early January.
