If lucky and the primary sky Hub has led's on the nic port LHS/RHS those are also an indication to what is going on!

Ok I am Trying to connect my old sky router (SR102) to my new sky router through ethernet in order to get better coverage up stairs.

Now I disabled dhcp on old router and gave it a different ip address in range I also kept the same wifi name and password so it will run smooth.

But it keeps disconnecting up stairs all the time.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Not sure why you would even want to use the old SR102 as ancient single band wireless N device but you may have a reason!
