topic Random internet connection in Broadband

My internet has been flakey for several weeks now. Probably about 4 months at least.

It usually stops for a few minutes, then fixes itself.

I was about to contact sky about 2 months ago, as I was convinced it was a line problem rather than anything in the house, but then I had a flyer through the post about upgrading to Fibre, which I've wanted for ages, but my area wasn't enabled.

This meant I didn't bother phoning sky as I was sure this "new line" would solve the problem. It hasn't, which tells me it must be the router. I didn't get a new router when Fibre was installed. Anybody think of anything unusual? As I know quite a bit about this stuff, so I've already checked all the obvious things. Thanks!
