Slow downloads Quick uploads

Hey guys, new to sky broadband.

My download speeds are really slow but my upload is nice and quick any idea what it could be?
I used the sky app service checker. You can see my speed is like 5mb.

I also used the which speed check and have attached that showing the upload speed.

any ideas?

@Haynzee What device are you using to wireless speed check, have you tried wireless off/on with a 10 second gap on that to see if it is device specific?

Hi JimM1,

I have a PC connected via Ethernet to the hub.

I have tried my iPhone next to the hub (within 1m)

But I have also connected to my sky app account remotely on a mobile network and told it to run the test and it comes back as 5mbps on the sky app.

This is an issue with the connection to the hub not after it.

Hey,

Its gone up a bit so on the which speed test:

46 down (I'm on 500 plan).

72 up.

@Haynzee What sky hub do you have, my FF500 feed i hit 500/70Mb/s no sweat on both Wired / Wireless connected devices, and your service checker is really showing not much out off step so the WAN looks good as you are kicking the 500 return values.

The HUB is shared so everything competes for the connection, that is why recommended to turn everything off and test with ONE Ethernet connected device, gives the base to work against, THAT device also has to be able to do it, so a laptop on battery power just may not cut it if not setup for NON power saving settings etc! Same with a PC that is running high CPU and background network activity!
