    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;wenhave had really slow broadband speeds recently, Openreach sent a contractor to test the line and a fault was found which they fixed today, the speed is still the same speed as before, can anyone advise what should happen now? Is an overnight update needed or something or another engineers visit?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Are you on fibre (ONT box on your wall connected to your router) or on an ADSL service, delivered over you phone line, plugged into the purple socket on your router?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you're on full fiber then full speed should be delivered as soon as the connection is active, if on ADSL, then if they have reset the connection, then you should see the speed stabalise after a few days.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your broadband speed is the speed delivered to your router not the speed you see over WiFi, a wired connection to one of the LAN ports on the back of your router will give you a more representative indication of speed, this is the speed that they gurantee, not the Wifi Speed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you're seeing slow wifi speeds then try powering down your router for five minutes, when it restarts it should put you on a less cluttered channel. WiFi shares the available wirless spectrum amongst all WiFi stations, if there are a lot, your WiFi performance will be impacted.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thank you!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;its ADSL so that makes sense, I'll see how this week goes. &amp;nbsp;Appreciate the point on the guaranted speed. &amp;nbsp;The WiFi speed test is at 10% of what it was 2 weeks ago.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
