Broadband upgrade

I've been offered the free upgrade for sky broadband. It says my items will be delivered this weekend but and engineer can't come out till next month.
Is it not a case of just plugging in new modem? Why is engineer needed?

Because if that's the upgrade from FTTC to FTTP then the address needs a full fibre circuit to be installed.

The whole point of the promotion is to speed up the switch from copper to optical broadband.

Only had sky in for 1 year. I had no cable coming into my house, BT come out to fit an optic cable.

That optic cable will need upgrading already?

If you already have FTTP then the offer shouldn't apply to the address.
