Xbox live disconnects same time every night

Every night around 11:30pm, my Xbox live disconnects, whether that's via WiFi (router is next to it) or ethernet cable. It happens the same time every night and I'm unable to use other internet based apps on my Xbox.

Other devices connected seem to be unaffected. Grateful if anyone has any ideas as Chat GPT seems to point towards an ISP issue blocking the devices.

@CallumCr unless the account owner has set up a parental timer for the console (see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max-parental-controls) it is difficult to see how Sky could be blocking a single device. It is also worth checking the Broadband Shield see

It looks as though the sky routers perform a number of actions between 11:30 and midnight that may cause the problem. From what I can see it's likely something relates to either:

- Nightly firmware checks

- Channel optimisation

- DHCP renewals

- Shield filtering updates (I don't think it's this though)

@CallumCr loss of connection after midnight can be due to maintenance or housekeeping but these should not happen every night or before midnight. Of course these activities would affect all devices.

It was the broadband shield settings! There was a 30 minute window which it activated between 11:30 and midnight each night that included online gaming in what it blocked. Thanks for the help!

@CallumCr Did you just turn the broadband shield setting to off to get rid of the restriction, what level was applied before that point?

I changed the timings so it's only active between 01:30 and 2:00, and unticked the online gaming option for when it is active
