Is the a more accurate broadband/ Wi-Fi check than the one offered with MySky that can be done remotely?

Broadband and WiFi are different things.

The check at fast.com from a device connected directly to the Sky Hub over ethernet cable (with a gigabit ethernet card and a cable known to be Cat5e or better) is a reasonably good 'test' for the broadband speed arriving at the address.

There's no good way of conducting such a test remotely without an elaborate network setup.
