I see sky uses open reach and city fibre network connections. Are you able to choose which one you prefer when joining broadband?

Essentially no: it appears that in areas with compatible CityFibre infrastructure it will be that which is used (and most of the country will never have CityFibre availability at all)

Sky Broadband over CityFibre users do enjoy the benefit of much faster upload speeds than are possible on Openreach circuits, in addition to those frankly ludicrous headline download speed bands.

Ahh ok. I have both connections to the house but only want to use openreach due to router position and signal issues. Shame really, thank you.

@CAWeston why don't you call sky and ask, or do an online and when it shows you what you can get with your address, then same up/down speed offered, will be CF, Down high Up Low will be Openreach! Not everyone gets CF all over there supplied area, and anyway few issues going on currently getting sorted out!
