Hi,

I received an offer today to upgrade to ful Fibre (100) for no extra cost.

I accepted this offer, as currently my broadband signal is shocking. it was poor to start with, and I have since built an extension over it, knowing I was going to move the point of enty to the house.

I was in the process of arranging moving the POE with ex BT engineer.

So my question is, will this be a new fibre connection to my house from the junction box in the pavment ? or will it be the old connection in copper which I will therefore have to carry on arranging moving the POE.

I have a duct in the ground ready for the new connection to be installed. just need what is going to be installed.

Unfortunately that doesn't help if the local optical cable distribution is overhead.

Perhaps try a few neighbouring addresses in the BT Wholesale lookup to confirm.

All we can go by is the lookup results, which as @cookiemonsteruk said indicates a (problematic) overhead connection.

If there aren't underground Connectorised Block Terminals (CBTs) in the vicinity then ducting cannot be used because the fibre just isn't there.

Thanks Chrisee

I understand this.

But its also a little more complicated with my personal situation.

Ive just had building work done. the original incoming underground cable got damaged. the cable was joined back together to get us by, as we were always going to move the Point of Entry. the joint now appears to be failing giving me currently 2.1Mb/s spead to my hub. - the kids are going mental !

Ive installed ductwork in the ground from the pavement joint box to the new location ready for a frindly Ex BT Engineer to give me a new connection.

But its pointless if in month this will be obsolete.

Hence im trying to understand how and if its likley to happen
