topic suspected fraudulent call in Broadband

phone call asking me to switch on my laptop and check my speed. caller said he was from sky and was suggesting that I was not getting the speed that I was paying for, and that I should do a speed check.. He was correct but I did the check after I had rung off. He called back the following day and said her could increase my speed but he needed me to switch my laptop on.so that he could get to my router. As he was an Indian I assumed that it was a scam because I guess that sky would not need to effect a change through my laptop. It also seems unlikely that sky would worry that I was not receiving the speed that I was paying for unless I had raised the matter with them..

You atecrightbthiscwad a scam call as companies like Sky do not phone people about their broadband speed.

Did you give them any personal details or even install any software they are asked you to because if you did you need to change your online asdwird and uninstall the software.
