wifi to garden room question

I'm looking for advice on how to connect a new garden office for wifi access. This is too far away from the house to use a booster. I currently have a Sky Booster near to the back of the house as our main Sky Hub is at the front where the landline comes in, which is connected to main router via cable. I also have a TP link wirelessly boosting signal to the upstairs rooms.

I've been advised that I would need to use an ethernet splitter and run a CAT 6 cable from the main Hub down to the office . What do I need in the office to provide the wifi once it is there? I need to connect a laptop and a printer.

It's all very confusing!

@Ladh Depending on how far and if you have power from home to the office, lookd at the powerline range, you will not get max speed distance wise but it may be more than enough for your needs. Anything with a W in front is a combined wireless/wired adapter!

@Waveman Is there any reason in particular that you recommend a wireless N device without knowing what is on the other end, do not disagree with you as speed may not be much anyway but you sure are forcing down to 2.4Ghz operation only!

For general use, 2.4ghz gives an acceptable connection for laptop use, face time etc, it also travels further and is compatiable with more devices. Over power line it's unlikely the user is going to be gaming, so this will satisfy getting general WiFi to the garden room.

I am also speaking from experience of using this particular device and it gives a good stable connection for general use. Its also very easy to set up. Quiet often the need for latest and greatest is outweighed by proven tech. For example there's a rush to install WiFi 7, which is still not finalized or fully proven.

@Waveman Perfect now i know, use three off them myself along with at AV600 direct that Tp has discontinued so had to up to the AV1000 as plenty used to buy but that's not for me, Main AV600 on the Ethernet died a death but not bad for 6 years on constantly, popped the AV600 out and the AV1000 in no issues AV1000 will have dropped back to the AV600 operation mode though!
