@mal30 the Sky deal with McAffe has not been active for at least 5 years. Honestly there are far better internet security products which cost less or are even free so shop around

If you have a Sky Broadband account which pre-dates that kind of period and you downloaded / installed McAfee from Sky at the time on to a device which still runs it then Sky might be able to help, as described here:

It's not possible to use a Sky-linked McAfee subscription on a new PC. You're better off cancelling the legacy Sky Broadband add-on and putting that money towards a standalone AV subscription (if you feel you need such a thing: there hasn't been a 'real' consumer level computer virus for more than a decade ; )

Ransomware and other malware is absolutely a thing, but that mostly gets installed by users themselves...
