topic Low speed in Broadband

Hi, it seems my download speed is very low considering the package deal I am with, 30mb/s although I have a 500mb deal. The power of the signal seems fine. I have the feeling I am not getting consistently the min guaranteed speed which is disappointing considering also the price of the package.

Cabled the speed is what should be, 500mb/s, but the WiFi is poor even if I am close by the router. If I reboot the open reach box, then the speed of WiFi goes back to what should be but tends to drop again...

@VvEmanuele Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surface then the only answer is additional wifi sources.

Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

Another problem thst could be sffecting your network is interference from neighbours' WiFi networks which would explain the temporary improvement after a crebootvwherecthe hub uses the least congested channels but these gradually become busier as other routers change the channels they use.
