I've just taken out Full Fibre 150 with Sky, and it was activated on Tuesday.

The WiFi only works in the room with the router, and drops completely as soon as you leave. I rang Sky earlier and was bounced around 3 different departments who couldn't help and are now calling me back again tomorrow.

What's the point of a Wall-To-Wall Guarantee if it only works in one room, and Sky's answer to it is "we'll only send you a booster to make it work if you pay us even more." Feels a bit money grabby when I've just signed up as a new customer, but would welcome any advice that might get me WiFi in more than one room

May I ask what internet brand you used before Sky that provided wall to wall service in your house?

BT, was perfectly fine with no issues, albeit more expensive. Does make me reconsider the move given the hassle though

Each ISP router are different spec. I have feedback from a relative that BT routers were pretty decent and yes thats why they also charge a bit more. But BT router is also getting quite old now compared to mordern standards..still uses Wi-Fi 5.

I was happy with TalkTalk for many years but then switched to Virgin Media 5+ years ago and it was very unstable Wi-Fi unless you sat in same room. Bought my own router after few suggestion and never had any issues. Moved to Sky and used same router for a while until a upgrade to a mesh system.

Think about the money you saved by move from BT and invest in your own router or mesh as a long term solution 😉

@Rahim7 wrote:

What's the point of a Wall-To-Wall Guarantee if it only works in one room, and Sky's answer to it is "we'll only send you a booster to make it work if you pay us even more."

Unfortunately it's the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' which enables loan of booster pods. The 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' is a guarantee of a small refund if wireless coverage isn't there, and, I suspect, is largely a sales lead generator for the monthly supplement.
