topic 2gb channel in Broadband

2gb channel

Hi.

just asking for some advice please.. bit of a novice here...

Apparently I need to split my broadband so that I can identify the 2Gb channel and use it for my ring doorbell and other devices that only support 2G.

is this a relatively easy process? I've read elsewhere that I need to go into the router admin and there is an option to split the channels.. and then once done I have to rename the channels such as xxx-2G and xxx-5G, so they can be seen and attached to.

Assuming the above is correct, can I just name the new 2G channel and leave the old one as it was? If I rename the existing one as well I'll have to reconnect all my current devices.. which is a pain.

Any thoughts on this process at all gratefully received.

For the black router the process you mentioned is correct . For the white router you temporarily disable the 5ghz.

To avoid confusion, it's 2.4Ghz (a WiFi frequency) rather than 2Gb (a data volume / speed) or 2G (an obsolete cellular technology)
