Well reports are coming from around the country, so... and if users are reporting it to Sky like I have done thwn surely Sky should be in discussion with Open Reach.

Not looking for an arguement but this seems to be standard Sky service nowadays. Been with them for 25+ years and never had any problems until the last 12 months or so.

Seems to be that people are having the same problem as me. No internet, or very intermittant since Thursday night in Tameside, Gtr Manchester. Two green lights and an amber on the router yet the service checker says everything is fine. And now I can't even get on the service checker. And no acknowledgement from Sky there is an issue (as usual). I don't want suggestions of contacting Sky as it's an Open Reach issue etc. This is not just one or two of us, this is country wide it seems. Come on Sky and own up.

In any case the network is owned by Openreach not Sky and if OR haven't shown any faults Sky can't know there is one.

@Broomgrove with 6 million customers it is inevitable some will have lost connection at any time.. The way Sky's network works is each exchange links back to a remote location where Sky houeses servers that manage your connection. Rarely one of these centres goes down and the forum goes wild.

Where a customer reports a fault Sky passes that report onto to Openreach who check out assuming it does not match other faults sharing part of the connection it is allocated to an engineer who checks it out the line within 2 working days. Unfortunately phone lines can and do develop faults particularly copper lines which are often decades old as copper corrodes, joints become lose and the kit in the cabinet can go wrong. This is one of the drivers for full fibre roll out as that network is far more reliable but is still vulnerable to cars hitting poles or digger drivers digging up cables.
