Every day around 8pm my ping spikes to around 1700ms when it usually sits idle at 12-13ms. I've tested whether this was an issue with my pc but it appears everything on my pc is completely fine. I've just run a speedtest from two other devices when I noticed the spike and the latency is showing around 1700 from those devices too so it's clearly an issue with the wifi itself but not too sure what to do about it

As the effect is short lived it could be being caused by a switch sparking when being turned off or on or a faulty device like a microwave. While the source could be outside your home so unavoidable it is more likely to be local so consider what happens at the same time for example someone is using an old electric kettle to make a hot drink.

Hiya, I'm honestly not sure at this point

I hadn't noticed during the week as I was at work but it's not just at 8pm that this spike happens. It's consistent throughout the day, doesn't appear to have any clear common factor for when the spikes happen. Today it's happened 8 times so far between 2pm and 7pm, not a single time when the ping spiked was anyone using any kitchen appliances or downloading on other devices so I'm very lost to be honest. The signal strength seems to be averaging around 85 dBm if this is relevant at all

Router twenty foot away through a brick wall and a door is at -62db which is fair!

Just had a look on NetSpot it;s currently at -68, The router is in the garage through a brick wall on the other side of the house to where I am. Is there anything you recommend trying? We never had this issue until recently it seems to have just gone downhill. Could a firmware update help potentially?

Literally the only things going on at the time in the house were my parents watching TV and me running that test from my PC. No kitchen appliances etc just TV and PC. I'll respond to the other comment regarding the hub once I'm back from work tomorrow, thank you for all the help so far 🙏
