It will work for the over the air Freeview channels and apps, but will not work with BT/EE's multicast IP channels.

As @Hunter2660 indicates the streaming content service 'BT TV' (now rebranding as 'EE TV') is exclusive to BT/EE Broadband.

Thanks, I just called BT (20 mins on hold) and although the bt box is working with the sky hub now, it will be deactivated.

The box will work as a bog standard Freeview PVR, BT can't deactivate that. The only thing that will not work are BT's own channels.
