Connection Dropping in other room despite being extended

Hello,

I have Sky Broadband Superfast but the signal keeps dropping when using WiFi in multiple rooms. I purchased a TP Wifi extender which has not helped.

This effects both my broadband using devices (laptops, phones) and Sky TV which cuts out TV shows/meetings/downloads.

Using the service checker, there are no known issues with service in my area. I have also tried all the reboot methods advised on the website.

Trying to raise this issue with Sky has led me here, so I am not expecting a resolution as I feel it is a localised issue.

Any advice on what my next steps can be is greatly apprecitated.

Is the signal dropping just further away from the router or even when you are close?

Hi James,

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

It's not as bad when I'm close to the router, but it does drop off intermittently.

The router is in a back room, as the landlord in their infinite wisdom decided to install it in a bedroom instead of the main sitting room.

I suspect you need a booster or two then. You can get these free from Sky if you have the broadband boost or Sky Max addon

I haven't got that so will add that now and see if it helps.
