Getting Openreach to carry out the required work has a cost to the ISP which they recover over the length of the minimum contract term.

Hi,

I called the moving home department yesterday to advise them of my upcoming move - assuming that I would just move my broadband and tv contracts across to the new house. But the lady said I need to enter into a new 24month contract for broadband - is this right? She said my tv package would continue as normal.
Thanks 🙂

She is correct because the line has to be cancelled at your previous property and therefore you have to start a new contract at your new address.
