We recently switched to Sky Broadband (within 2-3 weeks) and have noticed that we are suffering from buffering issues on Netflix and Disney+ now which we have never had with previous provider NOW Broadband. Our upstairs tv in the bedroom is unwatchable where it will only play a few seconds and then buffer until the App displays and error for disconnection. WIFI strength is being shown as poor and sometimes the Fire Stick can not connect to it even though our bedroom is directly above the Sky Router.

We have a Wifi Extender in the back half of our house already which appears to work but also has similiar issues when watching TV on demand. Never had issues with speed before and the number of our devices at home. We are paying for Sky Superfast Broadband and measuring around 51mb/s as before with NOW. Unfortunately this is the best speed we can get with where we live but this service is also unuseable.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

I don't have any sky extenders in the house. I have a TP link extender in kitchen which been using with previous broadband for 3 years.

The Sky router is SR213-02-UK

thanks

@Ste_85 From your reply would look like the issue is purely wireless wi-fi signal strength to the devices required, and that the Sky Max hub just does not do well, have never used that hub so cannot comment on it's performance but if the NOW which is based on the Sky Q hub was fine before, and it did indeed cover all off the missing area's and your booster from Tp-Link did the rest.

Would try the down stairs booster nearer towards the sky Max hub, and you may just need another upstairs, but you can move the one you have just now to see how it performs up to test. Can you say which booster you have, for me you would be looking at the RE500 or 700 range.
