topic Fibre Install PON Red Light in Broadband

I had fibre installed yesterday, when the engineers checked it was all working fine. Typically as soon as they drove off the PON light went red and it hasn't worked. I've checked all the cables and I can't see anything obvious. I've booked an engineer for Tuesday as I'm away this weekend. Does anyone know if this will likely be an easy fix for the engineer? I've had no issues with my broadband at all until the switch! TIA

Is it the PON or LOS/Alarm light that is red?

If the PON then there is a logical connection fault, i.e. a setting is wrong somewhere, so it should be straightforward. If the LOS light then its a physical problem, like a broken cable, so it will probably be a much bigger job.

Thank you! The alarm one doesn't really light up, it is the PON one that is red so hopefully it's a quick fix!

If that's the case the engineer might not even need to come to your house. The problem may be fixable from the other end.
