Inconsistent Broadband pricing

Recently retired, so looking to reduce costs on TV package and broadband.

SKY could not match new deal with Virgin Media (£50 for 150Mbps + SKY TV Signature). This was very disappointing after being a SKY customer for over 17 years.

Around two weeks before scheduled intall of Virgin Media (Full fibre) the TV retention team called and offered a good deal that I eventually agreed to and was pleased to remain a SKY TV customer for the next 2 years.

When I asked the TV team about broadband they directed me to the broadband team whom offered me a Full Fibre option. I explained that like-for-like (Broadband 150Mbps), this made the SKY TV & Broadband slightly more expensive than Virgin Media.

Wishing to remain a loyal SKY customer (>17 years) I agreed to cancel my Virgin Media deal, but the SKY Broadband team were unable (their words) to officially quote me until the Broadband line had been released by Virgin.

I contacted Virgin, who were very understanding, and cancelled my order. Two days later I spoke again to the Broadband Team whom now were quoting me even more for the SKY Broadband service - so inconsistent pricing.

In between time, I received an email from SKY quoting me Full fibre75 for£23 per month - so I sent a copy of this email via SKY myphoto.

I did this twice, with different SKY help teams, with poor responses from both - now quoting FullFibre75= £27 or FullFibre150=£32

I looked at my SKY account to see what renewal deals were on offer, to my disappointment they only had two comparable speeds

FullFibre100=£38 or FullFibre150=£40 - so no FullFibre75 and inconsistent pricing and a poor example of "dynamic pricing" 😞

Looking at comparision sites (Comparethemarket, moneysupermarket) SKYFullFibre150 is offered at £24 per month plus an £80 voucher!

OK that's for new customers but surely, with over 17 years with SKY, some leeway in dynamic or inconsistent pricing should be forthcoming.

With the imminent contract renewal date hiking my lowly 60Mbps (copper) to £46 you can appreciate my concern.

In summary. Inconsistent pricing, and would like the pricing in the SKY email to be honoured (FF75=£23) so giving me a saving that my retirement can afford

The best part of being a customer is you get to shop around for best deals. I have also been using Sky TV service 17+ years but only recently taken Sky internet service. You don't need Sky internet service to enjoy their TV service. My loyalty sits with the best value for money.

As Sky rent Openreach network, they maybe limited to how cheap renewal deals. You should never compare renewal deals with new customer deals. End of the day Sky need to pay Openreach and make some profit. Once my 24m contract is over, I most likely switch to another ISP as a new customer.

I have used Virgin Media for 5+ years and assure you when that 18m contract ends their prices are eye watering. Virgin Media are known to be very expensive out of contract prices.

BTW Vodafone is doing 150Mbs for £26 plus a £130 Amazon gift voucher via price comparison webite.
