You setup the password or you used to when you setup your account with sky, my password is the same for my tv account, broadband account and mobile phone account and has been for the past 18 years once you have verified your details over the automated system and you get to talk to an advisor they normally just double check that information and then open your account

Broadband Scam?

Just had a call from a phone number which told me that upgrades were being done to the fibre in my area and that I can upgrade if I would like. I gave them my name, current address, phone number, email and last two digits of my account number for my online bank until I realised after that it was phishy. The number is linked to broadband scams so now I am concerned on what they can do with this information and how I can make sure my accounts stay safe.

More help can be found here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-scams-help

You should also change your Sky online password:

https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/

And I would also change the email address you have registered with your account:

https://www.sky.com/mydetails/account-info

You also need to watch out for devices being ordered via your account as per this:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover

If you receive an unexpected parcel from Sky get in touch with our customer services team immediately. We can give advice on what to do. Don’t send the parcel anywhere except our returns address.

We’ll give you pre-paid returns packaging to send the parcel back to us.

I certainly wouldn't be rushing to cancel my bank card, you've not divulged any information that would allow anyone to access your bank account via your bank card.

It might be worth giving Sky a ring to see if, in fact, fibre upgrades are available to you, before contacting anyone else to report a scam .

EDIT:

@caesarome beat me to it! You said in an earlier reply on this thread that Sky would ask for your account password, they will never do this... they will ask for your telephone PIN or password, which is completely different.

When I phoned Sky on behalf of my father, (he was with me at the time) he didn't have a telephone password, so they verified he was the account holder by asking him for the last two digits of the bank account that the Sky direct debit was paid from. We then had a conversation resulting in him downgrading his subscription.

I would be careful giving advice to fellow customers on this forum which is not completely accurate.
