Sky booster model compatibility

Since upgrading to Full Fibre 150 my connections in most rooms are unstable at times and weak in some of the farthest rooms.
I am wondering if the booster model makes any difference as I now have a Sky Max Hub SR213

and 2 sky boosters model SA210A. I've tried moving them around but no better.

@JohH200 Are your boosters the sky SE210A models, and when you wps connected them to your New Sky Max SR213 dod the SE get all three connected lights to turn green.

@JohH200 As you have the white SR213 sky hub, do you have the Sky Max subscription, the ideal extenders for that are the pod type, but it has been noted that the SE210 the old booster for the SR203/4 works but do not hold me to that fact as cannot confirm for you.

If indeed the SE's are working, a speed test with it off, then a repeat test with it on to see if you have a marked difference, ideally position the extenders about 30' away from the hub and see if they stay connected.

Max user's get free pods if sky say so but you have to call to get one/two/three off them.

@JohH200 Personally the SR213 comes out off the box using WPA3 mode, and the SE's will not like that, so adusting the SR213 down will help, but do beleive you have to do it via the app. Could look for a link if you need to try.

@JohH200 will have a look on sky help also, but found this on the forum. WPA2-AES is what you should look for, and sky link from the help.

This normally works but if you have a white Sky hub go into its advanced settings in the My Sky app and change tge WiFi security setting from WPA3-T to WPA2 which may sort the issue.

I've tried each of the wi fi security setting for several hours and no improvement in stability of connections around the house.

I've concluded that my old sky Broadband with its much slower connection to the house was actually a better option for a larger house., than Sky Ultrafast WiFi with 2 boosters.

@JohH200 In all off this, are you still using the Sky Max router, the SR213 model? Even though you may have got the new pods. Cannot comment on the Max router as only have the older SR203, resurrected my SE210 for the Wireless Wi-Fi and wife is testing that just now and she is way happier, snappier response but has the speed hit, she does not need it anyway speed wise...

The Max Hub appears to underperform in a percentage of households (although only Sky knows what that percentage is)

Boosters help range but impact speed.

I haven't got the pods. Just the original boosters. I can't find anyway to order pods

or order the sky max room guarantee

@JohH200 Ok got you on that now, the trusty old SE210 boosters will about half the speed to the max router, so kind off good value for them is a 200mb/s on my FF500 feed, will check mine later and let you know, but they will have to be carefully placed as not a mesh system and devices just can have a mind off there own and not follow to where you expect.

Not any help with the pods etc as do not and would never need, not a mobile app control a router guy, had enough with the EE one so stayed with the SR203 when back to sky in March. I just dont get this max thing now, if you have a max hub then my thought is you have it all full shooting match...

No: the Max Hub is just the single item of router hardware.

'WiFi Max' is a subscription supplement paying for a range of add-on services which, amongst other things, facilities loan of booster pods for use with a Max Hub.

@TimmyBGood Thanks for answering that for me, so you can get a Sky Max router at request but not get anything else, all the extra's bells and whistles cost you more and you have to subscribe for that?

New subscribers get the Max Hub by default, and can opt to add the WiFi Max subscription supplement.

Current subscribers have to add the WiFi Max supplement in order to upgrade to the Max Hub.

@TimmyBGood Was probably me then, just back mid March on a FF500 and the SR203 would not entertain a sky Max router or booster or anything, had enough of the EE where do this web, you need to do that with the app, loads off stupidity and halve the time the 2 week update cycle app was fix one break 3-4, fix those, break something else and they are still at it!
