Sky SR203 fibre broadband router making a ticking noise

As many others seem to have mentioned, the router is making a ticking noise like a clock.

Can you help stop it? The posts here don't offer a suggestion, just an invite to a private chat about it.

@BeSKyID given there many millions of these boxes in use a very small % do seem to have an issue causing a noise. Standard practice is to switch out affected units which come back to Sky to be refurbished. Simply call Sky to arrange this

Yes, so I used archive.org to find the deleted thread that suggests setting the WAN from Auto to Ethernet, which seems to have fixed the issue.

I was hoping to find details on the "standard practice" though, as I am sure you have had the experience of calling up somewhere and they have no idea what you are on about.

Perfect i couldn't get the archive website to load properly but this worked fine
