Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.

Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

That's disappointing I've been a sky customer for over 20years I've never really had a good WiFi signal even when I bought a booster, never bothered me to much until I got my ring doorbell I really need that to have a good connection, dies sky not supply a booster?

Yes, but at additional monthly cost.

Sky loans wireless booster hardware 'free' under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online but Sky won't offer support with using these, and Max pods acquired that way won't work at all.

Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.

Thank you for your help, most of it is like double Dutch to me I'm afraid 🙁, I was under the impression that sky would fix any problems with WiFi as part of my contracts I should have got back to them years ago when I became aware of how bad the connection has been, maybe time to try virgin.

They attempt to do so where the appropriate subscription supplement (Broadband Boost or WiFi Max) is in place.

Moving to Virgin wont change things with wifi in your home as most isps are the same. Threatening to move makes no real difference when talking to Sky.
