No: that was the case back when Max was released in 2023, but doesn't apply now.

The significant restriction is that the Max Hub isn't compatible with G.fast broadband, and some previous users of G.fast who have moved on to FTTP find this incorrectly carries over.

I have Sky Q (with two mini boxes) and Sky broadband (FTTP). My broadband contract is up for renewal (I still have 15 months on my TV contract) and I want to upgrade to sky WiFi Max.

However, I cant upgrade to that on "My Sky" and, when I phoned up, the chap said they aren't offering WiFi Max to existing customers. Seems a bit odd?

We want to upgrade the router (we currently have the black Sky broadband one) but it looks like they won't let us!

I read on a forum somewhere that if you have Sky Q and mini boxes then the option to have sky WiFi Max is removed. Is this right?

It's still not letting me upgrade to WiFi Max, and my broadband is now out of contract. I phoned Sky and was told that existing customers aren't being offered it if they have Sky Q as well.

The Wfi hot spots on the Q boxes no longer can support any non Sky devices and there are reports of issues with a general slow down in some set ups.

So in order to get WiFi Max I'd need to change my Sky Q to Sky Stream?
