Thanks for the replies.

I had changed my access point from an old BT Hub4 router to a newer 'Now' router at the same time as repositioning it to a better, but very awkward to get to position in my loft. I tested the Now access point with two of my Sky pucks before the repositioning and it seemed to work well, so I positioned it. The next day it started working intermittently - the pucks would connect for a while, then drop the connection. In the end their was nothing I could do to stabilise the connection, so I restored the older BT Hub4, but in the new position and so far everything is working well.

So, the moral of this story for me: If ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have Sky broadband with a sky router hub and another old router now used as an access point, connected to the sky hub via an ethernet cable (to the other side of the house). This has worked reasonably well over the last few months. I have three sky pucks, two of which have been connecting through the access point and one to the hub, and subject to the occasional glitch have all worked okay.

Yesterday I changed the access point router with a 'newer' old one, on the assumption that it may perform a bit better as it is a bit newer (it is a 'Now' one - my previous provider).

The whole set up seemd to work okay yesterday evening.

Today I am having problems with all three pucks. Each one has said it has a wifi connection but no internet. If I reset each one, i.e. re-selecting the wifi network manually and re-keying the password, each of them will connect again and allow a program to be selected and watched. However, if I press home or return on the puck to see the menus again they say they are not connected to internet (but connected to broadband).

I have tried re-booting the router (multiple times), re-botting the access point (multiple times) and re-booting each of the three pucks (multiple times).

Can anybody help?

Thanks, Alistair.

A Now router wouldn't have an access point mode. What were you using before?

Thanks for the quick response.

The previous AP was a BT Hub4. I had set the 'Now' hub to no DHCP and given it an IP address outside the range of the Sky router hub. I assumed that would be enough, but perhaps I should just try going back to the ols setup (though a PIA job as it's up in an awkward attic.

I find it strange that the pucks seem to connect inititially, then drop the inernet, and that the puck that connects to the hub has the same problem.

You would also need to make sure that both routers were using different WiFI channels for both bands. Maybe factory reset the pucks as well if you haven't already.

But much better to just buy a proper WAP.
