It can often be because flats have overcrowding of WiFi signals which can cause dropouts & slow downs. Have you ran the line test in the My Sky app to check its not a line fault first?

I moved to Sky in November and I've not had a good experience with the broadband so far. It's incredibly slow on my phone, with pages often timing out. It's now causing issues with working from home as the WiFi is dropping/dropping to such a low speed for about 30s that I lose my VPN connection. I've tried all the trouble shooting but nothing has improved the situation. I live in a small flat, I shouldn't have issues connecting when just a few metres away.

Hi James,

Yes I run them frequently and nothing is ever flagged and the speed is almost at its maximum. Would I not have had this issue with my previous provider if it was overcrowding?

Not necessarily as each router is different.

Do any of the lights on the hub change when you see the issue occuring?

Are you able to test via ethernet?

No change in the lights. Not sure how to test by Ethernet if I'm honest?

@ERy24 wifi interference in flats is really common issue as you have at least 8 other networks in range. Rebooting your Sky hub can help but it is often only temporary. The answer is to upgrade your wifi system which is likely to be what your neighbours have done making your issue worse. Modern systems like Sky's WiFi Max hub can help as the routers use a wider range of wifi channels.
