topic Internet speed in Broadband

My internet speeds are down to 34.9 when it's always been 50+. I have tried everything it's asked me to sort the possible issues and still nothing... feeling like it's a push to get me to upgrade my internet as surely it wouldn't just drop down this much unless the router is dodgy or sky are reducing it to make us think we need to upgrade it. We live in a rented property and im not sure if we can get full fibre installed as we do not own the property. It's very frustrating.

@Benji1996 if speeds to the hub have dropped it is most likely an issue with the line. Copper lines can be decades old and joints can corrode etc. it is highly unlikely to be the hub as they either work or they dont and you can forget Sky limiting speeds to get you to upgrade it would be horrendously complicated to do and Ofcom would be down on them like a ton of bricks.

Unnfotunately getting Openreach to do anything about a slow line is difficult unless the sped is below yhe guarantee for the line or yhere are other faults. You can run the service checker in the My Sky app which reat the hub's speed daily if you click on the link beside the last result you will open a page with the history for the last few weeks and thecguaranteed speed for your line. The app should offer further help if speeds are below the limit. While you can call Sky it is unlikely they can do much more than the app.
