I'd like to move my hub to a different location as it currently sits on my window sill. Can I buy a longer Ethernet cable without losing any broadband speed due to a longer lead?

Yes, just make sure it's at least Cat5e, which is good for up to 100m.

That's assuming that you're on full fibre & the existing cable is in fact ethernet. Folk often confuse terminology.

Thank you! I think it is Ethernet. It has two yellow attachment ends. One coming from phone/wall socket and other into the hub.

If you're on full fibre it will be going to an ONT, which has LEDs on it. It will also be going into LAN4/WAN on the router. If it's going to a standard phone socket on the wall it won't be ethernet.

Yes it's going to ONT with LEDs so the cable you mentioned CAT5e should be okay? Thanks for your replying
