I currently have the sky hub 4.2 and Is struggling with WiFi signal upstairs and when using the ps portal . I was wondering if I could piggy back the tp link router to the sky hub to use for WiFi and keep the hub running for the the devices I have connected through Ethernet .

yes you can do this, you would simply be using the TP-Link Archer as your 'Access Point' and then your Sky hub as the main router.
