topic Price Increase - How to Move in Broadband

Hi. I've had an email today saying that my Ultrafast fibre broadband will be going up £3 from £31 to £34 from 1st April. I'm on an 18 month contract which ends 12th June 2025. The email also says I can leave by contacting them within 30 days to *cancel*, which I'm planning to do in the next couple of days. I'll then move to Zzoomm.

I don't want to be just cut off though. The word *cancel* makes me wary. Do they just put something on my account saying that if they receive a request from another provider not to add any early termination charges?

Thanks.

I wouldn't bet on that as the only way to be sure would be to call Sky and when they give you a date (which is usually in 14 days time) see if you new provider can activate you on either the same or following day.

Although is does say an "average", with no explanation. I've seen elsewhere though that the 6.2% is based on the retail price of the product, & not on any discounted rate.

You're right to be cautious given that someone else has moved & been hit with early termination charges.

https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/Broadband-early-termination-charges/td-p/4927734

So we really need a superuser to obtain clarity from Sky how this process is supposed to work.
