topic Upgrade to Hub 6 in Broadband

Set up (Old): Sky Hub 4, Q with 3 Mini Boxes.. All connected via Ethernet. Sky Booster 2 to boost Wifi to rear of house.
Setup (New) Sky Hub 6, Q with 3 Mini Boxes.. All connected via Ethernet. Sky Booster 2 to boost Wifi to rear of house.

When I setup the new Hub (after upgrade from Fibre 80 to Fibre 330), I renamed the SSID and passsword to same as old Hub 4 so existing devices would connect without reconfiguring.

Issue.. Lots of Wifi issues throughout house. Phone always tries to connect to 5Ghz but only really gets a signal in the hall. So I have disabled the 5Ghz Band. Noticed that wifi connection on 2.4Ghz is really bad in other areas of the house. I know that the Q and Mini Boxes used to act as Wifi extenders but it seems this has been disabled now. That just leaves the Booster 2.. However, I can't see that this extending the SSID of my private network.

I suspect I need a pod or two.. but also just wanted to check that Booster 2's work with the Hub 6. I reconfigured it through the WPS option but my Wifi Analyzer shows that it's not broatcasting at all.. even though the lights on the front show green for power, connected and wireless.

@mikem22 not only do the old boosters not act as wifi extenders you have lost the wifi hotspots your Q boxes provided with the Hub 4. You definitely need to talk to Sky about getting pods. I wish Sky made it clear that the white hub is not necessarily an upgrade for customers with Sky Q.

Given the Hub6 uses a dualband SSIP your phone should connect and use whatever band that carries a signal so there should be no point in disabling to 5GHz band except when trying to connect IOT equipment and once they connect it should be switched back on.
